I completed my last requirement to recieve my diploma which was my internship, final paper, and final power point presentation. Know I am just waiting for my grade and then my diploma will be sent in December. I can finally say I am DONE!!!
I am still working at my internship which is still the same hours becuase she can not offer me full-time or really pay me any more. I have been searching for full-time jobs in well any thing right know anything with benefits since I currently have none. When December rolls around which seems to be right around the corner thats when good ole student loans start for me. I am starting to realize WHY in the heck did i think the real world was better then going to school every day. Bills, bills, bills, no insurance, no insurance= more bills.....yuck to the real word!

Not much else has been going on other then work and looking for work and completing the internship.

There has been lots happening around the area for example at the Marketplace Foods in Hayward they had a bear come into thier store. He went into the liquor store and walked into the bear cooler and climbed up the beer that was stacked and just sat there for awhile in till the animal people came. Also the Bremer Bank in Elk Mound was robbed yesturday at around 2pm. Not only do I bank there but I live not even a block down from there yikes. Everyone was at work durring the time. Shannon, Amanda's boyfriend just got home and out of the shower when he got a knock at the door. It was a state trooper who asked him if he had seen any thing suspious going on, Shannon replyed I just got home from work and Shannon asked him what was going on? On his way home from work on 29 he said there was nothing but state troopers and cops lining the road. There is only 3 bank tellers that work there and usualy at most there might be two of the girls there I was so scared for them and hope they were okay. After work yesturday I drove past the Bank it was around 6pm there were still cops, dectives, state troopers, tv stations, the yellow caution tape, you name it surrounding the Bremer Bank. I was reliefed to see that both the main ladies that usualy work there when I go in, both there cars were still there. I was glad to know that there wasn't just one of them working alone when this happened. Here is the link to the video: http://www.weau.com/home/headlines/65235952.html

"Mayonnaise Jar & 2 Beers"

Just a lil somthing to remember...
When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 beers.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two beers from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty spaces among the sand. The students laughed. 'Now,' said the professor as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things--your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions--and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car. The sand is everything else--the small stuff. 'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you. 'Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Spend time with your children. Spend time with your parents. Visit with grandparents. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your spouse out to dinner, play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first--the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the beer represented. The professor smiled and said, 'I'm glad you asked. The beer just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of beers with a friend. : )

Whofta...

Sorry it has been awhile since I have posted...I have been working for 3 weeks straight even though some days are not 8hrs it is still physically and mentally demanding. There is no me time. Luckily I took off Tuesday for a "mental health day" or sending out resume day/career conference day.

First off HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Shannon Steffen this Saturday I hope you had a great day!

A few weekends ago I went home to visit the Steffen and Meyer crew. Theresa (Mitchell's sister) had her second son Cody. Here are some pictures I took : )
Shannon, Amanda and I have been house sitting 2 Yorkie puppies name Spunky and Lenny this week and next week. They are both males and are 3 months old and soooo adorable. Their barks, wines and run which is really a hope are so cute. But man are they a lot of work. We took out the dinning room table and make it into dogie daycare center for them. We used latus for the gates and Lenny the smaller one figured out he could wiggle himself through the little wholes of the latus...lil brat. I would put him in the fenced off area go sit down to eat and I would get a bite in and all of sudden their he was trying to jump on the couch...to smart, and the poor other dog is to chubby to fit through. Here are some pictures of the 2!

New Email

Since Stout is forcing us to change our email address here is my new one! peltierj@my.uwstout.edu Every year Stout makes their students change their passwords and will not allow you to log in in tell you do so. After changing it soooo many fleepen times you can never remember which one is your new password. Thankfully they let us keep our old passwords and have only changed our email...but know I'm going to have to remember that one. Okay enough with the bickering.

Nothing exciting happening around here when you work everyday! Saturday after work my sister Amanda, former coworkers and friends Jill, Moria, and I are all going out to eat and catching up. Afterwards I am heading to the Steffen/Meyer Residence to see Theresa and Bryan's new baby Cody and the family. Then its back to work Sunday morning at the internship.

In the meantime while I am not working I have been searching for a full-time job. I have come to find number one this economy sucks, two I need to move to MN they pay better, and three I need to move to Rochester they have jobs everywhere I look...even if I am looking in the Eau Claire area wham theirs a Rochester job (maybe it is a sign)! If anyone knows of any openings or helpful places to look it would be greatly appreciated : )

If anybody is looking for something to do this weekend, this weekend is "Spirit of the St. Croix Days" in downtown Hudson! Here are just some of the many things going on Saturday....
~Artist Village: food & beverages, music, entertainment...the festival is free (who doesn't love free stuff to do) down on the lake front at the band shell.
~"Taste of Hudson"...a food, wine & beer experience featuring local restaurants costs is $50 from 6:30-10:30.
~Scarecrows on Parade: 10 a.m - 4 p.m. Certain down town business created a scarecrow using thee the merchandise they sell. If you visit the participating businesses listed in the official program and get your program stamped you can be entered into prize drawings. (not sure what it is but if its put on by the Hudson Chamber its parable a good one)!
~Theatre After Dark: 7pm family friendly movie.
~There will be a hey wagon (i believe that's what their called) having a brain fart...to transport people around...so come down and see where I am interning at (Grapevine Interiors) and see our neat scarecrow that we designed : )

Have a good weekend hope to see you their!

The Great Minnesota Get Together...
On Sunday my mom, Sister Amanda, her boyfriend Shannon and I went to the State Fair for the day. It turned out to be a nice day it was in the high 70’s to low 80’s. On Friday was Shannon’s birthday and on Sunday was my mother’s so we celebrated their birthdays by going to the fair.

Here are some pictures from the day….

Our first stop was at the Pronto Puff stand where Shannon and her sister Denise were working… THANK YOU for the free pronto puffs : ) very good!

We stopped at the birthing center to see the lil guys..

I wanted to try the new apple called “Sweet Tango”, which was invented by the University of Minnesota. Sweet Tango= was created by combining the Honeycrisp with the Zestar (both of which were invented by the U of M). But after going to the fair I found that it will not be out till mid-September I can’t wait to try one sound delicious.

Group Shot of the 4 of us…
